“Lex, what’s wrong?”
Alex looked up and saw her brother standing over her. “Steven? What’re you doing here?”
“Something is wrong. I just know it.” He sat down and took her hands.
“I can’t tell you.”
“Why?”
“I need Jim. I need him now. I need to tell him first.”
“Lex, please. I’ve never seen you this afraid. What’s wrong?”
Alex looked into her brother’s eyes. “Oh, Steven.” She hugged her brother as she cried.
“Lex, whatever it is, I’ll help you.”
“I can’t. I’m sorry. I can’t do this right now.” Alex stood up and ran across the street.
Steven stood up in shock as she sped out of the parking lot. He picked up his cell phone. “Yes, this is Steven Welch. Is Mr. O’Roark in the office yet?”
“Yes, sir. I’ll transfer you to him.”
“This is O’Roark,” Jim answered.
“Jim, it’s Steven.”
“What do you need?”
“When is the last time you’ve talked to Alex?”
"I don’t know. Why?”
“You don’t know?” Steven asked. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
“Nothing. I’ve been busy and so has she.”
“Is she still your wife?”
“Of course she is. Steven, why are you calling me?”
“You know what, just forget it. Your wife needs you. I just found her afraid and crying in the park, but you don’t care, so, screw you!” Steven slammed his cell phone shut.

“Well,”
“Why would that have to do with it?”
“You have, well, a cop fascination. You’ve always been attracted to men in uniforms. You love badges.”
“That explains it.”
“What?”
“The collection that I have. I couldn’t figure out why I had them, but they did make me feel, well, sexy.”

Life Series finale, Volume 9, Sequel # 7: It’s four years later, where “Lives…Rewritten” ended.
Delve deep into the heart of Alex and Jim O’Roark, as well as the strength and courage of their children. As the children of Sars Springs come of age, more lives are affected in tragic ways.
Those who were awakened with hopes of survival, suffer debilitating side effects, as others never survive at all.
Destiny becomes her own as her life events affect all of those who surround her. New love, new loss, new lives and
new deaths cripple the town of Sars Springs as the final chapter of “Life” is written. “Things are not as always as they seem, remember what you felt? You will save the world one day. This is that day. Remember the love, the pain and the heart. Most of all, remember
the Angel.”
Jake moved closer to her and grabbed her by the throat. “You are going to die first.”
Raina tried to punch him, but her right hand still didn’t have strength in it. She lifted her knee and hit him in the groin. Jake winced in pain as he shoved her across the room. Raina ran as fast as she could towards her office. She opened the door and lunged at her desk. She tried fiddling with the lock box to get her weapon out, but he ran in and grabbed her by the hair. He stomped his foot on her right hand as she continued to reach for her gun, which fell to the floor.
She kicked at him, but he threw her across the room and lunged on top of her. “Get the hell off of me. You’re not ever going to hurt me again. I’ll kill you.”
“You can’t kill me.” He pulled his gun from his waistband and pointed it at her head.
“Jake, what do you want from me?” she cried as he pulled her down the hall towards her bedroom.
“Hmmm, did a little rearranging while I was gone, huh? Well, let’s see. Why don’t we break in your new bed? We’re still married…”
“No, Jake. After next week, we won’t be. I hate you. I don’t love you. You’re not going to rape me again.”
“Rape? No. I’m going to love you hard.” He ripped open her blouse with his left hand as he held the gun to her head with his right hand. “Oh, look at the lovely scars.” He laughed.
His laughter soon stopped as a gun shot echoed and he fell, lifelessly, on her body.
